This is the opening title sequence of Gomorra, an Italian television series, based on the movie by Matteo Garrone and the best-seller book by Roberto Saviano. This is a two-man job: I supervised the project and I took care of all the 3d part, from modeling to rendering (depth of field and chromatic aberration are made directly in render), and compositing was done by Alessio Pericò. This is the original color correction, the final one is more dark and acid.
First, I made a 2D logo for press advertising campaign, then I modeled the letters tracing that image and I used it as a texture. Above you can see the final illustration and below three early versions.
