I worked for one year at Caribara Animation as modelling and texturing supervisor, sharing the role with Alice Lomiry, on this animated series, based on Karina Schaapman's children's books. The series was broadcasted by France Tv, and if you are in France, you can watch all the episodes here.
Similar to the books, the series is set in a sprawling mansion with interconnected, dollhouse-like rooms where much of the action takes place, along with a large courtyard featuring several shops and a playground.
The greatest challenge laid in capturing the dollhouse essence of the original. Each object needed to be intentionally misproportioned and slightly crooked, resembling a handmade miniature. Our goals in both modelling and texturing were to evoke a tangible, textured feeling.
Except for the two protagonists, the characters share the same topology, with shapes adapted to accommodate various body types and facial features.
